今週は俺の家から車で30分ぐらいのHuntington BeachでU.S. Open of Surfingが開催されている．WQSのスターも大きく，Bigなスポンサーが多くついてる事から，世界から多くのプロサーファーが参戦してる．その中には，サーファーなら誰もが知ってるRob MachadoやらRoss Williams，日本からは大野Brothersや小川直久が出てて，かなり熱い大会．加えて金曜ぐらいには頭オーバーの波が来る予報が出てて，俺もかなり興奮ぎみ．かなり画面小さいがSurfline.comで中継してる．
残念ながら日本選手のほとんどがRound 128の段階で敗退してしまった．日本のサーファー率ってかなり高いと思うねんけど（あくまで俺の感触），やっぱり世界の舞台やったら勝てへんねんなー．野球のイチローやら，サッカーの中田みたいな活躍の日はいつのことやら．．．
その大会をよそめに，俺は学校終わりにトラッセルズへ波乗りへ．サイズは腹胸だが，風がなくていい波．どうやら今週は，トラッセルズがU.S. Open of Surfingの出場選手の練習場になってるようで，波なんかまったくとれない．スピード，パワー，柔軟性，どれをとってもプロはやっぱ凄い．海の中で観客と化した２時間やった．
The famous exciting surfing competition U.S. open of Surfing is held at the Hungington beach, where I can go in 30 minutes, this week. This competition has big WQS stars and is sponsored by several big companies, so many professional surfers including Rob Machado, who are very very famous in the world, Ohno Brothers, and Naohisa Ogawa from Japan are competing hotly right now. Actually, the line-up is so exciting that I can't stand to be quiet ! In addition, the new grand swell will come Fridey, it'll make overhead waves. However, I regret that most Japanese surfers have already lost at Round 128. Even though Surfing is becoming common in Japan, they can't win at the world stage. When will the hero such as Ichiro in Baseball and Nakata in Soccer come?
By the way, I went Trestles to surf after scholl. The wave was stomach to chest high, and wasn't affected by wind. It was good. The Trestles is supposed to be the place to practice for competitors of U.S. Open of Surfing. I couldn't get any waves. Speed, Power and flexibility of the their riding was so fantastic that I was like a audience in the sea for 2 hours.
